It is the same on all sources, on both speakers and headphones. The sound is full range (does not lack bass or treble compared to the other channel) and undistorted, just less gain. Right channel has about half the volume of the left channel (also when switched to mono). But, after some 2 hours, I heard a loud POOF from the right channel speaker, and the volume on the right channel dropped by half. Current on collectors of outputs should be 410 mA d.c., if that's any indication.Īnyway, I ran it at moderate volume, and it was making a beautiful sound. If anyone knows which of the above is correct, please let me know. According to TVK it is polarized in Class A/B (pre-drivers in Class A, power stage in Class B), according to a thread on AK here it's first 10 W in class A then switches to B, according to Magnatmuseum website it's class A, period. The amp got quite hot (fast, even before I connected the speakers), but I figured that since it's at least part class A, it has every right to. I checked DC and sound on headphones (all good), then connected the speakers. I just got a PHILIPS 22AH561, so called Vissenoog (Fish-eye).
